Boozery-WAYD?

My weekend fishing update belongs here this week, a giant bottle of Jack Daniels and a late night of rocking prevented me from getting a fly into a carp...

We did meet the founder of the Denver Carp Slam on the Platte river and he was as nice as someone could be asking a fisherman not to fish public water due to a tourney and I polity let him know "I was tourney fishing". ;)

We went the opposite direction of the "tourney holes" and found the mother-load of river carp, story to be continued when I catch one...

zip~here's your fly just before it's maiden voyage. luved how it stayed on the surface and didn't get water~logged. i took my spinnin reel, too. a few minutes after this, i hooked an unbelievable brownie on a brown roostertail. biggest one eva! chris guessed he was about five lbs! i thought around 26~30 inches? anyhow, i got him just below us on the bridge. just as i wondered how i should attempt to get it up out of the water, he waved his huge body twice, got free and ventured slowly back into the deep. disappointin, but it was awesome to see a big fish like that out there!

Great pic Moth!
& wow that is an exciting story about the brownie, I'm glad you got to see that fish and now you know where it lives - but yeah, bitter sweet when they power off like that...

Keep after it, that spot is out of a fishing mag or beer ad

I felt a disturbance in the force half way through our trip.
ImageOur hotel was the host for Gay Ski Week. The best thing about Gay Ski Week, Gay Cocktails. They were fabulous! I enjoyed the "Ride Me Cowboy, while Karley had the "murder on the Dancefloor"

A few places were selling Mulled Wine. Had to try one, talk about false advertising. No mull whatsoever in it.

auld acquaintances~ a gorgeous amber made by pike brewing company out of seattle, washington. brewed w/malted barley, magnum/williamette/east kent goldings hops, orange peel, coriander, cinnamon and nutmeg. oh my shiva...this is gud! reminds me of a mild bitter w/an orangieish flavour. didn't mind payin the $4.19 for this and will probably get it again before it's out of season...bein it's a holiday brew. think i had this last year and liked it, too. they say it's a winter treat datin from pre~christan times to celebrate the winter solstice. readin the history of this brewin company makes me want to try some of their other brews, especially the XXXXX stout...a black english ale brewed w/chocolate, licorice and expresso!
