Daily Fishing Thread

Hit the flow for 30 minutes this morning. Snowing like crazy. I got hit, she ran and then ping! Off my striper went and my my new plastic lure. I switched to 10 pound test but I was in a rush so no leader. Big mistake. I had a premonition while tying to my jig head that had a rusty eyelet - I was going to lose the fish I caught because I'm being too lazy. Sho nuff. It was really beautiful out there with the snow falling on the water. There was a sound I couldn't describe when the flakes hit the water that was zoning me out. So cool. I love fishing.

Your going to get a striper soon dude .
I have said it before , braid is soooo good when using the plastics. If you get a chance try it.

Tried fishing today. Opening day of Striper season for us along the Jersey Coast. Bunch a dudes doing the same. Wind was whippin' good - no fish had. This week's weather is looking up. At least no fuckin' snow on the horizon...yet.

I was changing fuel filters in the shop when the power went out. I keep some gear in a locker. So today, I too tried to do some fishing. Our snowmaking reservior has a few LMBs and Northern swimming around. Although the majority of the pond is frozen over, I keep a few spots open with aerators. I tossed a spinner bait in the open areas for about a half an hour. The sun was shinning, and I had nothing to do. So, even though I didn't catch any thing, I still enjoyed myself.

Next week I plan on hitting the harbour in Port Washington in search of lake Michigan Carp. I'll spend the week preparing a new boilie ball recipe I found...

I tried throughing a lure yesterday afternoon in the back bay to see if any bass where around. I needed to test my waders out cause I remember getting wet the last time i used them. Well the hole got bigger. Had to abort the mission. I looked like I pissed in my jeans for the rest of the day.

Has any one ever fished Disney world ?

I'll be staying at diseny's animal kingdom for a week late next month. I've done some research, and the park offers guided pontoon bass fishing excursions for $230 (fuck that) Also offered is what they call "dock fishing" but it's unclear what that involves

A couple of years ago I saw an episode of jimmy houston fishing disney

There are quite a few ponds within walking distance of our villa. I'm going to bring my shit, and go carp fishing

I'm sure dock fishing involves you giving up some cash for standing on a dock with a rented set-up. Stealth it cap'n carp.

Ben if you fish disney I hope you film it. That'd some hardcore brownie shit there.
I bought my license today and fished this afternoon on the south fork. My buddy caught one brown, I got f'n skunked. It was nice to be out on the river. They're already warning about the drought conditions this summer the winter has been so thin. Looks like an early/short runoff...unless it starts to snow/rain.
