Late spring bite is in full swing.Big Bruising Bronze Backs all Day long.The Channel Cats are pulling hard.Went out w/ a couple of troopers last weekend,Dave's not here on Saturday and Chum on Sunday.Big smallies For Dave and Big turds for Chum.Dave's best of the day would have gave my derby winner a run. Thanks troopers.Here's the reel story.About lunch time we spotted two bald eagles over the boat.They were screaming and circling above us.They came together a few times.They rule.Anything that fucks in free fall is the coolest creature on the planet if not the universe.As we were all mesmerized by the site we were brought back to our task at hand by the loud sound of ripping drag.As usual I was the first to the pole to stop the drag but when i put my thumb on the spool we still heard drag singing.A double.Two guys on the platform retrieving planner boards then the unlikely on the other side two hundred feet from the first board that went,a third.We had tripled up w/ three solid fish.Elbow to elbow on my platform three guys pulling in boards.I ripped off the first ,the second and then the third.What a site.It was on three against three.After a lengthy battle the first arrives.A trophy of a life time.6 lb 22 incher,moments later a 4 lb 19 incher,I land both in the net.They lay side by side in my basket net as I await the third.I swooped in for the triple,a 21 1/2 inch 5 1/2 lber.As i lifted the three trophies out of the water the pole on my telescoping net creases and folds.Some how they all managed to stay in the net.I guess it was meant to be.The boys dad took great photos of the episode.That day we had 5 over 21 inches and the final tally for the seven hour trip was 31.here they are.....
