I thought the mackerel were beautiful. I was stoked they were good eating too.

On X-Mas day Gayle and I each caught a nice bluefish at the same spot. It was so windy/choppy that I needed more weight and put a 1oz split shot right above the spoon. Just so I could cast that much further and got a nice blue on the first cast. What a great fight!

I handed the rod to Gayle and in a few minutes got another. Let's see if I can figure this out-
can't so here's the link to video!

We also tried fishing a couple times on the Indian River. The most action I had was a hit and my 40lb. leader being cut nearly on impact. On the morning before we left we went out on the Lady Stuart for a morning of deep sea fising. It was a public group boat type of thing $40 a head. The fishing was pretty slow I think because the water was sandy. We all caught though, mostly small sea bass-2 keepers and one Snapper which were tasty. It was still fun, the sun was out. I got to watch a bunch of tourists puke. Were drinking beers responisbly. Craig was wearing this hat.

We had to leave Palm City at 3 am to catch the 630am out of orlando. There was frost on the wings and we had to wait 2.5 hrs for the sun to come up over a little cloud bank and melt it. We missed our connection in Ohare, American 2253 which slid off the runway in jackson hole. Not a fan of that airport in winter. But I can't complain- at least we got to Florida. (Sorry about your trip getting cancelled Capt!) I must say I'm now a big fan of surf fishing. Hanging out on the beach, drinking beers. Fishing. But you've got to watch out those fish all have something spiny or sharp.
