Halloween expedition

Halloween expedition

Postby Josh » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:11 pm

It's been a while since I've been around due to a crashed hard drive. I finally made my way and wanted to share some escapades from last weekend. We had such an amazing all around weekend I thought it was worthy of it's own thread. These pics are of our trip to see Ween in CO which we also parlayed into a hot springs soak friday night, fishing on the north platte sat., a lumber delivery- then the concert on sun. Sorry this is so long. I tried to pare down on the pics but I've got so many!

There's a hot spring there in Saratoga, free, open 24/7. we pulled in about 11:30 pm.
It's so hot and these bubbles literally boil up and practically scald you- very therapeutic

Slayed em on the North Platte river the next day. Our first time ever fishing this river and I'm sold!We caught 10 fish between us. Mostly in the 12-14" range at two different spots. The first was called Foote and had clay bluffs along the bank that we climbed down. The second spot was called Treasure Island and required crossing 1 or 2 suspension bridges to get to.

This brown is all of 22" and my one of my biggest trout ever.

This Halloween house seriously creeped me out and I am way into old buildings.

These are evil furry bunnies on Halloween that seriously fucking rocked that joint.

How great to meet fellow Troopers!!

What a great trip Josh. It’s a massive bonus when you fish a new spot and catch good fish.

That big trout is a solid fish.

So who are the fellow troopers you met. I can’t tell who they are because they are not holding up fish.

I want to put on a halloween costume and see Ween.

Cool post Kennys Dad.
It doesn’t matter to us.

Josh, it was great running into you at the show! What an amazing night!!!
Let's hook-up at the springs, those fish are awesome, great pics!

BBTT & I crushed brains as time traveling Ween robots, BBTT is probably in 200 pictures from the night and Melissa is still on cloud 9 after she got to dance on-stage with the boys during the encore! I can post pics when I get back to Colorado, I am currently on the road working in Bean-town...

Thanks again Captain!!!!!!!!

NIce Jim. I know there were many sick ragers going on around the nation. Anyone have a report from the Meat Puppets with the Butthole Surfers in austin? WE need to have a proper troop rally at some point which includes all BTFS activities including fishing, rocking and drinking. Also, I'm an idiot- can someone point me to the shit derby results?

Doug Avery 1lb. 1 oz. Bluegill
Ben Adams 29 lb. 9 oz. Carp
Will Renfro 10 lb. Channel Catfish
this is what is posted in the "Derby Leaderboard" thread. no official announcement was really made, but I do remember talk of Ben and Chum's winning fish, I have to assume Doug was never topped either? I know I didn't come close!

Thanks. Well congrats to the shit winners. (edit- I thought those were old standings)Here's one pic that I forgot to put up from the weekend but it kind of sums up the feeling of the day after the show- driving home 10 hrs.
