great fish guys!

check out this article about a possible Tennesse state record largemouth that was caught and released. it's too bad that a fish has to die in order to be certified. they really need ot change some of the laws regarding hawgs

The quality of fishing in Tennessee is North America's best kept secret... Check out this write up I got in the Tennessean. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120 ... t|Sports|p

Sky, I wish I could say we did but it wasn't up to me. The 'eyes no longer naturally reproduce in Dale Hollow. In the late 70's the TWRA introduced alewives into Dale Hollow as a deep forage base for lakers. An enzyme in the alewives make the 'eyes serile. So when they shocked up samples in the lake in 85 they found no 'eyes under 5 years old. That's when the stocking program began, mostly with Erie golds. Ironicly all the lakers died in 93 and the TWRA decided to discontinue the laker program but we still have the alewives... On my boat it's all catch and release on bass and muskies but the trout and walleye are on the put and take basis. You know me Bro, we released the state record Muskie, takIng the survival of the natural species over personal glory.

hey ya'll, sorry it's been a SLOW winter for me. ice comes and goes, and now all I want is some open water! bought my first boat in december, has been waiting patiently for me to break her in... we got about 10" of snow on saturday here in Nebraska, so Sunday me and another dude from my bass club decided to try and hit some open water. only place open was the Missouri River, so we trudged on up to his (use to be) cabin. just throwing some 3" grubs around, trying to catch anything... then BAM! I here "ohhh, big fish, BIG FISH!" caught in the mouth, what a surprise on February 5th! tight lines ya'll...

FFG- Some very cool captures mate.

Phishful- Congrates on the new boat. Must be very frustrating waiting for the ice to melt.

I had an epic session on the weekend. Went with my buddy Smacks to a new spot, that was on fire.
Hit the water at 430am and spent 3hrs getting live mullet for bait. Glad we did as the bite was red hot.
As soon as the tide started to come in the barra and salmon were in a feeding frenzy.

We landed 2 salmon and five barra and lost about the same. All fish put on a great display with massive some jumps and big runs.

Hey Troopers.. It's been a long time since I've posted here, but I've certainly been checking in to see how everyone has been making out this winter. My hours have changed at work so I'm missing a lot of prime time winter river fishing. Lake Erie is not going to freeze this year, and it's been very windy - so with those factors combined, the Niagara River has been a big muddy craphole. I was in cuba recently and fished, and caught a bunch of snappers, a mahi, a barracude and some other colourful reef fish. Spara, those fish are awesome. I recall you said you are coming to North America in 2012? Where are you touching down?
And as always, all troopers have an open invitation to fish with me in the Niagara River/Lake Erie/Lake Ontario. My boat restoration is finally complete!
Keep those tight lines!

Great fish all. I've been so busy getting a grow room set up and starting seedlings for spring that fishing has been on the back burner this winter. A real shame, too, since it's been so mild. Thanks to FFG for the recent trip. My son and I will drown a few worms at a local pond next weekend. When summer rolls around I'm thinking about a gardening thread for any fellow greenthumbs.

I may be in St. Catherines visiting relatives this summer, Musky. I'll give at least a month's forewarning, if so. I fished the docks in Port Dalhousie years ago but never out in the main lake.

BOO ! ! !

hey troop. I've taken the past month off of work to run the house after my wife had surgery. I finally got some time to my self, so today I took advantage of some warm weather, and went carp fishing...
